Abstract
This study tries to examine the research trend of sexual trauma art therapy by analyzing 40 journals including master¡¯s and doctoral dissertations published in Korea and KCI-registered journals and candidates for it between 1996 and 2021 in terms of the publication type and time, study subjects (age, sex, & role types), study methods (research type, measuring tools), and study contents (environment for intervention, art media and techniques, & program organization). The results are as follow: First, in terms of publication types and trends by period, KCI-registered/candidate journals accounted for the majority, with the largest number of publications from 2005 to 2009. Second, concerning the trends of study subjects, most of them deal with adults whereas none targets children or the aged. Also, they tend to focus on women or victims. Third, regarding the trends of study methods, case studies targeting individuals are found the most, and about measuring tools, the examination tools of questionnaires dealing with emotion or ego and projective drawing tests for psychological assessment are often adopted. Fourth, concerning the trends of study contents, as environment for intervention, individual treatment lasting for 60 to 89 minutes per session, once a week, with total 11 to 15 sessions is found the most. Regarding art media and techniques, two-dimensional dry media and task activities such as ¡®drawing a picture about me¡¯ and ¡®drawing a picture about the incident of sexual trauma¡¯ are most frequently adopted respectively. Most of the programs take personal growth as a factor of effectiveness, and about goals in the initial, medium, and last step, the formation of therapeutic relationship, exploration and acceptance of ego, and positive recognition of ego and positive plans for the future are often used as the goals respectively.
